FRANKLIN COUNTY

- County Engineer makes the final decision and has power of approval
Two-step approval process:
- Send completed application to Supervisor of Assessments.
- Upon approval by the Supervisor, it goes to the County Engineer, who has the power of approval–the County Board does not vote on it.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY
Three positions for permit application review:
- Supervisor of Assessments
- County Engineer
- County Treasurer
Multi-step approval process:
1. Submit completed application to Supervisor of Assessments, as indicated in Section 4 of Ordinance. Five business days for review. If corrections, additions, etc are requested, an additional period of five business days is allowed.
2. Must comply with Williamson County Ordinance Regulating Development in Floodplains, Ord #08-07-31-05
3. Supervisor of Assessments will not give approval to any building permit for property in a designated floodplain area unless and until the Applicant is granted either:
- Approval from the Williamson County Floodplain Coordinator, or
- Variance from the County Board of Commissioners.
4. After approval by the Supervisor of Assessments, the application is reviewed by the County Engineer. Five business days for review, with additional five if more information, corrections, changes, etc., are requested or required.
5. After approval by the County Engineer, the application is forwarded to the County Treasurer. Three business days are allotted to notify the applicant of approval.
6. Work must be commenced within one year after permit issuance, or a new permit application is required.
Building permit application fees: Commercial application, $100; Industrial application, $200. Payment due on notice of approval from the County Treasurer.
- All applicants are required to contact J.U.L.I.E prior to beginning construction.
- If any new or reconstructed entrance from a County road is required, include the location, dimensions, and size and type of drainage structure.
- Include drawings and plans.
- Other elements and information as required or requested from the County.
- Applicant may be responsible for locating and establishing property line.

Appointed 2019, won a special election in 2020. Re-elected in 2022. Raised in Harrisburg, lived in Marion for the past 25 years. The former commercial loan officer and branch manager at Bank of Herrin’s. Graduated Harrisburg High School. BA in finance from Southern Illinois University.
