It does not maintain its own website at present and has not published to its Facebook page since 2019. Deborah Crawford is the Chamber’s main point of contact according to the county website.

Context and notes regarding individual: The county recently rejoined the I-71 corridor economic group KIEDA. There are six counties in this alliance. The website has not yet been updated to reflect Trimble County’s membership. The website has information on employers, workforce, industries, demographics, and community profiles for member counties. I-71 only passes through Trimble County very briefly and there are entrances or exits from the highway in the county.

Context and notes regarding individual/group: Kentucky Waterways Alliance is the only statewide organization focused on waterways in Kentucky. They work with communities on local watershed issues and advocate for better policies and programs at the state and national levels. With a mission to protect, restore, and celebrate Kentucky’s waterways. From Susan’s bio, “If you or your organization would like to partner with KWA to protect, restore, and celebrate your favorite Kentucky waterway give Susan a call or send her an email. She will be happy to talk with you about how we can work together!” A partnership with KWA could be valuable in validating site runoff concerns for local agriculture and water quality.

Context and notes regarding individual/group: Kentucky Farm Bureau is a grassroots organization that began in 1919 to represent the interests of its member-families through programs and supporting efforts. Trimble County Farm Bureau offers benefits and services to local residents and has established a reputation as an effective advocate for its local members. Among the benefits of membership are the extensive insurance and financial services available through Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Cos., the largest property-and-casualty insurer in Kentucky. The county Farm Bureau also maintains a Facebook page.

Relevant notes or programs: The University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service serves as a link between the counties of the Commonwealth and the University of Kentucky to help people improve their quality of life and build better communities. Utz, Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources for Trimble County (502-255-7188; regina.utz@uky.edu), who will likely be more accessible than Willie Howard, who manages more than Trimble County. The Extension program is considered a very significant force for education and economic development in the county.

There are no hospitals based in Trimble County, although there are at least two small clinics based in Milton and Bedford. The nearest hospitals are Baptist Health in La Grange and Madison State Hospital in Indiana.
